There are two essential papers in the JPSC Prelims Syllabus , and all of the questions are objective. Similar to the UPSC, the Prelims exam consists of two General Studies exams. Candidates must fully understand the JPSC Syllabus to pass the exam. The main subjects and sections of the preliminary examination are as follows:
- All questions will be of the objective type.
- Every paper is worth 200 marks and takes two hours to complete.
- For the applicants to be eligible for the exams, their scores must be higher than the minimum qualifying marks and the cutoff marks.

- As per the new UPPSC Exam Pattern, there will be 0.33% negative marking for every incorrect answer.
- For example, if the maximum marks allotted for a question is 2, then answering it incorrectly would incur a penalty of 0.66 marks
- Filling multiple circles on the OMR sheet for the same question would be treated as an incorrect answer
- There is no negative marking for leaving a question blank

JPSC Paper 1 Mains Syllabus 2024
There will be two sections in the General Hindi and General English exam, one in Hindi and one in English. It will be a combined paper. Each of the two parts is equally weighted, with 50 marks. The purpose of the exam is to evaluate the applicant’s proficiency in both languages.
Each applicant will only get 30 marks out of a possible 100 (combined Hindi and English) in this qualifying exam. Therefore, there are now 50 marks. Students with a foundation in Hindi or Regional Languages won’t suffer from the general English part. Because of this, the questions in both portions of this exam will only be matric level and will only cover the subjects listed below.
